Experience the Thai countryside by bicycle. We pick you up from your hotel and transfer you by car to a small traditional village about 20 minutes outside Chiang Mai. We will cycle through traditional villages with wooden houses on stilts, ride through the rice fields along lazy back roads and stop at a village school. Encounters such as water buffalos crossing the street or children surprised by the unusual sight of foreigners in their village are to be expected. We continue our exploration of the lifestyle of local farmers and get to learn about the process of seasonal rice farming. We will spend the night in a beautiful teak wood nature resort, where you will enjoy dinner.
In the morning we drive to the north and make a stop at a local market where the guide will buy food for the trek and you can buy some water. Then into the mountains to the starting point of the trek. We will walk in about 3 hours through the beautiful jungle to a nice hill tribe village. We take it easy on the way and stop to take pictures and swim at a water fall. Overnight in the village.
After breakfast we will walk for about 2 hours to reach the elephant camp where we will ride these majestic animals. From here it is another 1.5 hour walk to the river where your guide will prepare lunch. Then we will board the bamboo rafts and cruise down the river to go to Sop Kai, the point where our truck is waiting to transport us back to Chiang Mai.
Biking, hiking, elephant riding and bamboo rafting. First night overnight in a resort with swimming pool, second night overnight in a local house of the hill tribes
