A Pilgrimage Across The Holy Mountain

We start from your hotel and approach the Doi Suthep mountain with its hilltop Buddhist sanctuary. We make our way up the mountain (12km) for a visit of the exquisite Wat Prathat temple and its famous viewpoint.  If you do not want to cycle up you can go by support car also. We continue past the Royal Winter Palace and come across a Hmong hill tribe village. We now choose for a – in places quite narrow – dirt road which winds down through fruit orchards and tracts of dipterocarp forest. When we see the first glimpse of sun rays reflected on water, we know we will soon arrive at Huay Tung Tao lake where we will have lunch in the typical floating bamboo huts. After lunch transfer back to Chiang Mai.
