Chiang Mai Old City by Electric Bicycle

  • 3 Hours
  • Easy riding
  • 15 KM
  • No minimum age
This tour will take you through the historic city of Chiang Mai, you will see some famous Chiang Mai temples and the more unknown Chiang Mai places which tourists hardly visit.  That makes this tour interesting for both new and recurring visitors, even for those ‘who have seen it all’. The less well-known areas will show the poorer side of the city, the slum areas where Thailand’s prosperity has not reached its inhabitants yet. And also here you will be greeted with that famous Thai smile.
Cycle to Wat Chedi Luang, probably Chiang Mai’s most visited temple with its imposing, huge, and characteristic chedi. We will ride the old city’s quaint lanes towards Chiang Mai’s Three Kings monument, this iconic symbol of Chiang Mai represents the three kings who founded the city.
We head for Wat Phra Singh. This is probably Chiang Mai’s most revered temple. We make a stop at the Warorot Market, a local shopping spot, to see and smell the flowers, fragrant herbs and fresh fruit on offer today. We allow you time to explore this exciting market and explore the colourful fresh produce on offer.
Our electric bicycles are pedal assisted which gives a natural feeling almost like tail wind. There is no throttle which would place them in the category motorbike and illegal to ride without the proper license, please check this carefully when you book an e-bike tour in Thailand.Their weight is only 17 km which means even without help from the engine they really feel like a normal bicycle.
Many e-bikes in Thailand are not suitable for riding without electrical power, either they have very small wheels or very big wheels. A good example is the fat tire bikes that look cool but that is the only advantage. They are made not for all round use but for certain special conditions only, such as snow or sand. They are heavy and the ride is rather bouncy. Most fat bikes do not have any suspension, just to keep things simple and reliable. This means that the tires will provide all the shock absorption, but the big balloons have very little motion damping. This causes the bike to bounce over bumps at speed, and this can cause both loss of control and accidents. Most riders don’t like this feature of fat bikes.
